In 2016, we celebrate ninety-seven years as the oldest African American Baptist Church in Schenectady, New York. We continue to honor our past, serve our present, and mentor our future. Though the building remains the same, we have enhanced the worship experience with the introduction of new technology. Our congregation reflects our surrounding community, with its struggles, aspirations, perseverance, frailty, youth, excitement, discipline, wisdom and innovative thinking. Friendship strives to combine a down home "spiritual feeling" in a contemporary gathering of the saints in worship, praise and service.
